Safety

How light can contribute

The topic of safety in cities is a complex one and is often the subject of passionate debate. Needless to say, safety is essential for well-being. On the other hand, a feeling of safety and objective danger in public spaces are often miles apart. More lighting can increase the feeling of safety but it does not automatically have an effect on actual safety. Holistic design approaches are required for urban spaces here, which also include lighting planning. For a dynamic city, healthy social relations and a strong identification factor is the best means of ensuring the safety of citizens.
