Located in Normandy in the north-west of France, Le Havre is the country’s second largest port. The goal of the Quai de Southampton project was to revitalise Le Havre’s outer port. The project is now complete and, in place of a partly desolate terrain are now gardens, terraces and playgrounds, all attracting lots of visitors.
Lighting plays an important role in this urban development project. When it came to illumination of the Quai de Southampton, the planners opted for Olivio Floracion on high poles. As well as enabling the lighting of roads and footpaths, they also offer great flexibility, for example, with regard to smart component such as cameras, loudspeakers and more, which can all be integrated into the poles.
The minimalist design and their photometric properties enable the Olivio luminaires to blend perfectly into the surrounding landscape.
Illumination in the new port area is now pleasant and efficient, while at the same time free of glare and light pollution.
