Loca­ted in Nor­mandy in the north-west of France, Le Havre is the country’s second lar­gest port. The goal of the Quai de Sou­thamp­ton pro­ject was to revi­ta­lise Le Havre’s outer port. The pro­ject is now com­plete and, in place of a partly deso­late ter­rain are now gar­dens, ter­ra­ces and play­grounds, all attrac­ting lots of visi­tors.

Lighting plays an impor­tant role in this urban deve­lo­p­ment pro­ject. When it came to illu­mi­na­tion of the Quai de Sou­thamp­ton, the plan­ners opted for Olivio Flo­ra­cion on high poles. As well as ena­bling the lighting of roads and foot­pa­ths, they also offer great fle­xi­bi­lity, for exam­ple, with regard to smart com­po­nent such as came­ras, loud­spea­kers and more, which can all be inte­gra­ted into the poles.

The mini­ma­list design and their pho­to­me­tric pro­per­ties enable the Olivio lumi­nai­res to blend per­fec­tly into the sur­roun­ding land­scape.

Illu­mi­na­tion in the new port area is now plea­sant and effi­cient, while at the same time free of glare and light pol­lu­tion.
