The small fis­hing town of Le Tré­port is situ­ated on the Eng­lish Chan­nel coast, directly at the estu­ary of the River Bresle. It is a spec­ta­cu­lar loca­tion, with the town wedged bet­ween the sea and the cliffs in places. Tré­port is also home to the hig­hest chalk cliff face in Europe, at a height of up to 110 metres.

This imp­res­sive urban set­ting was recently rede­sig­ned as part of a deve­lop­ment pro­ject. The type of ligh­ting always plays a key role in pro­jects of this type since it has to be coor­di­na­ted to the ove­rall con­cept. Sub­se­qu­ently, the choice of mate­ri­als is key, both in terms of aest­he­tics and func­tion.

Sojo­urn quality in Tré­port is now enhan­ced during the eve­ning by a new ligh­ting con­cept, with spe­cial light moods ador­ning the waterf­ront gene­ra­ted from vari­ous scenes. Light effects are gene­ra­ted using Olivio RGBW pro­jec­tors dyna­mi­cally pro­jec­ting vari­ous colo­urs. As a result the ligh­ting can be adjus­ted as requ­ired.

The second part of the pro­me­nade is illu­mi­na­ted using Aira lumi­na­ires. With its dis­tinc­tive shape and trans­pa­rent design, the Aira blends per­fectly into the pic­tu­re­s­que envi­ron­ment wit­hout domi­na­ting it.

  • The organic design of Olivio and its functional versatility due to the modular design of this luminaire family is inspired by role models from nature. As a result Olivio forms the basis for light concepts in urban living areas where the focus is on the well-being of people. Olivio luminaire heads are available in the sizes Grande, Medio and Piccolo and can be combined with various arms and pole types from the three design lines Sistema, Floracion and Candelabra. Yet it is not just the design that can be adapted individually according to the situation – various optics and light colours from 2,700 to 4,000 Kelvin also cater for challenging lighting tasks efficiently and without glare: from illumination of paths and squares, floodlighting of façades and accent lighting of buildings. The new Olivio Cap also reduces light scatter and for special requirements, with its camera and loudspeaker modules, Olivio can be integrated into smart application scene. The special wooden-pole aesthetic emphasizes the Olivio's high quality, organic luminaire design. Combined with luminaire heads in a harmonoius colour tone such as bronze, this results in a timelessly comforting spatial ambience.
  • With its transparent, almost unembodied-looking housing, the Aira pole-top luminaire shows just how harmoniously modern lighting can blend into urban environments creating an iridescent presence. Selux has made the light of the Aira quite literally float - as a pendant luminaire for pole-top fittings or suspended on an arm, its appearance is defined by the Tritec optic.With one or two modules, various light distributions, and the light colors 2700 K, 3000 K, and 4000 K, Aira can be adjusted flexibly to the relevant situation and lighting task. As a pendant luminaire, Aira also generates a predictable downlight portion, allowing sophisticated lighting tasks to be solved on roads or squares, as well as in narrow lanes or under overhangs. With all mounting variants, luminaire optical enclosures are available in various shapes - from transparent, minimalist cylinders and spheres as standard, to versions in tinted, lacquered, or structured plastic, or even special sizes and shapes that are reimagined versions of historical models.
